Ermes AVATAR Trigger Mechanism

The Ermes AVATAR trigger mechanism is made entirely of AISI 316L stainless steel, while the roller itself is crafted from 17-4 stainless steel.

The AVATAR line release system is the same as the one used in the Ermes double roller line. The AVATAR mechanism is a perfect fit for Ermes AVATAR, MVD, and wooden spearguns.

The trigger mechanism features a patented dual-roller system: one roller is connected to the trigger and release handle, while the other roller – which holds the shaft – is mounted on a pin and moves freely within an oval slot. This design stabilizes the shaft, evenly distributes the load, and significantly reduces, or almost eliminates, friction.

The line release interacts with the shaft retention handle through a system that has since been recognized and adopted worldwide as the most reliable. Ermes pioneered this innovation, just as they were the first to adopt rotational pivot points to reduce trigger weight.

The movement is powered by a torsion spring.

The housing is based on the original design, following its curves. To create it, a special mold was built, and it is produced from thick 1.5 mm sheet metal. Components are manufactured with thousandth-of-a-millimeter precision, and holes are finished with centesimal reamers to guarantee perfect rotation. The material thickness is 9.5 mm for the sear, 6 mm for the trigger, and 3.5 mm for the line release. All details are rounded: the line release does not cut the line, and the trigger features a special grip to prevent finger slippage during shooting.

Tested to withstand up to 350 kg of load.
