Hunting for lobsters

The season is coming to an end for most people and there is a long way between the fish. In addition, it is also cold, in and above the water. But if you have the correct equipment with you and are not shy, then it is a good time to catch lobsters and oysters. Limfjorden is a good place to catch lobsters and there are plenty of them if you know where to look for them. However, it is not only in the Limfjord that you can be lucky to find lobsters. Lobsters have been found in several places on the west coast, the east coast of Jutland and on Fyn.

Respect for the sea

With water temperatures around the freezing point, it requires good equipment and respect for the sea. It is a good idea to dive with a partner and to have safety in mind. It is typically the hands and feet that freeze first. Therefore, it can extend the time in the water a lot if you use three-finger gloves in 5 or 7 mm. Thick neoprene socks (without holes) and possibly an inner vest to keep in the heat also help to prolong your dive.

Always remember your fishing license and that the minimum size of lobster is 87 mm on the carapace in Limfjorden. Lobster with roe is protected. If you need equipment (lobster nets, thick gloves and socks) or some good advice on where or when it is good to look for lobsters, then stop by our showroom in Fredericia.
